The Tools For Life Program
The Tools For Life program was developed using the latest research in brain development and the experience of experts in human development.
We understand what helps to promote the skills that children need for life and also understand that every child develops in their own way. We recognize that the best approach for each child is one that takes everything about who they are into account; especially their unique personality and interests.
Maternal Care
The beginning of an incredible journey
Finding out that you're expecting a baby can be both exciting and scary. There is so much to learn about what to expect and not knowing how things will go can feel overwhelming.
You buy all the books and talk to everyone you know that's experienced this before.
You can't wait to meet this little person that's growing and getting ready for the world, even if you don't yet know what's going to happen.
As your baby grows from week to week, their brain and body are starting to create the first foundations for skills that will develop once they are born.
During this stage, our program focuses on providing the support you need to give them the best possible start, and getting you ready to welcome your little one.
Early Childhood
The first few years are crucial for developing skills that will serve your child for the rest of their lives.
During this stage, our program focuses on helping you understand how they are developing and providing them with direct intervention for any developmental needs that might impact their success.
The Elementary Years
These years bring more opportunities for your child to be in different environments and to interact with different people. This means they get to use the skills they've learned so far and to learn new skills.
It also means that they face new challenges and new opportunities to discover their interests, build relationships, and start to figure out what they want for their future.
During this stage, we help you identify how their development can set them up for success as they learn more about how to become independent in all the environments they are in.
Adolescence
These years can be both exciting and challenging, as your child begins to explore the world on their own terms.
This is a natural part of their development and is influenced by the experiences they had during the early childhood and elementary years. The way they explore the world during this stage sets them up for the choices they make and the outcomes of those choices.
During this stage, we help you to identify the developmental areas that are connected to their behavior, provide direct intervention for any areas that are impacting their ability to be successful as they try to balance mental health, relationships, schoolwork, hobbies, and other areas of their lives.
The Teenage Years
It seems like only yesterday that you were looking forward to meeting your baby.
You remember what it was like to help your child grow, and you might feel a little sad when you realize that they prefer to do their own thing.
During this stage, we continue to support you with identifying the developmental areas that are connected to their behavior and providing direct intervention as needed to help them practice the skills they need for adulthood.
